"the best instructor I have ever had"Dr. Williams is the best instructor I have ever had in my three years as a graduate student. I've taken other courses with her previously and she was such an incredible facilitator, as soon as I found out she was teaching a facilitation course I registered. She is exceptionally knowledgeable, but beyond that she is an exceptional educator. Her courses are engaging, challenging, interesting, and filled with practical application. She regularly goes above and beyond as an instructor and makes herself available to students. As a graduate student she provides a level of mentorship in her teaching style that is rare and invaluable. She is the type of instructor I strive to be someday and has been an important part of my positive experience as a UF graduate student. This was a facilitation course taught online which seems absurd, but Dr. Williams still made it absolutely amazing. Her ability to make online learning as good as in person is a gift! - Student Evaluation, Spring 2021

Her enthusiasm for higher education, research, and helping others grow professionally is infectious.Dr. Williams has the unique ability to take a complex topic and make it simple enough to learn but appear complex enough that you want to understand it better. Her enthusiasm for higher education, research, and helping others grow professionally is infectious. While our class was three hours long and online, I never found myself hoping class would end early or distracting myself with other content on my computer. Instead, I regularly wished we had five or ten more minutes to continue with our discussion. - Student Evaluation, Spring 2021

"impressive energy, commitment and dedication"Dr. Williams had an impressive energy, commitment and dedication to her class and to her students progress. From the material she selected to support our leaning – relevant readings and videos, class preparation assignments – to the practical examples and activities she brought to our classes. The class format was amazing. Dr. Williams' facilitation skills and her ability to overcome social distancing pandemic requirements, in a class that is very hands–on / participative oriented, was another amazing competence of hers. Classes were dynamic, rich in content / learning / exchange among peers, that I did not feel time passing by –– especially taking into account that it was an "evening course". Last, Dr. Williams' prompt feedbacks to every work or assignment we produced throughout the course was SO detailed and constructive, that I can clearly recognize my immense progress when comparing my knowledge at this end of this semester to when I started. - Student Evaluation, Fall 2020

"You work hard, and you learn so much that it's worth putting in the time.Dr. Williams is an absolutely amazing professor. First, she is extremely enthusiastic about her work and it's contagious. Second, she is knowledgeable. Third, her teaching style is very deliberate and extremely effective. Her course makes you put in a lot of work but none feels boring, or like its busy work. You work hard, and you learn so much that it's worth putting in the time. She also tailors her class activities to ensure the objectives of the course are met. What's more, her courses are designed to make sure the students get the most out of them FOR THEMSELVES. Personalizing class projects to the individual is hard for an instructor, and I know we are all thankful that she allows us to use the course as needed. UF and TCD are lucky to have such an outstanding instructor. She worth her weight in gold! - Student Evaluation, Fall 2020

"inspires critical thinking and learning"
This was truly one of the best classes I have ever taken, and truly the best instructor I have ever had. Professor Williams did an incredible job at making an online class feel as, if not more, enriching than a regular class. Her teaching style inspires so much critical thinking and learning, and because of this the concepts she teaches stick with me far better than in any other class. Her open, prompt and democratic communication style fostered incredible and open communication with the class, and her assignments were among the most interesting, educational, enriching and thought–provoking I have ever had. Despite this being my first semester of graduate school, and being remote, Professor Williams made us feel as if we were truly getting the real graduate school experience, and helped us to connect with our fellow students on both a personal and professional level and to develop priceless communication and leadership skills that we will need throughout our professional careers. - Student Evaluation, Fall 2020
"passion for the material" |
"hands–on teaching style" |
Dr. Williams was an incredible instructor! She has been one of the best I have interacted with and was key to this class. Her passion for the material came through every class period and she was remarkable in her ability to foster a great learning
environment. I definitely would not have gotten as much out of the class without her as an instructor. She was also very understanding and flexible in terms of COVID constraints which made the class much more doable. I think all students would greatly benefit from taking this class. I have learned so much from this class in terms of professional (and personal) life skills that will benefit me greatly in the future. - Student Evaluation, Spring 2020 |
Dr. Williams is an excellent facilitator and an excellent teacher. She understands the different learning styles of her students and was genuinely interested in connecting with each of us individually. I found her hands–on teaching style to be incredibly effective, and I never expected that a three hour "human dimensions" course held at 8:30 could fly by so quickly. She handled the transition to online classes better than I imagined, and used it as an opportunity to teach us how to facilitate more effectively online. Easily among the best instructors I've had the privilege of learning from at UF. - Student Evaluation, Spring 2020

"safe place for people to express themselves." |
"approachable and honest" |
This was by far the easiest course evaluation that I have ever had to fill out! Becky is a great professor and goes above and beyond to really help her students learn in any way possible. She creates a comfortable atmosphere for students to learn/acquire skills in the most efficient way. This course was so unique in the depth that the students go into their own lives and experiences. We all became really close. Becky did a great job of helping to make that happen, encouraging a safe place for people to express themselves. - Student Evaluation, Spring 2018

Becky is a very confident teacher and facilitator and often knows just when to take a pause or switch activities or draw something out of someone. She is also very approachable and honest with everything so it’s easy to ask a question without feeling uncomfortable. I also think she read our feedback and questions both in writing and in real time and tried to address them as the class went on, both at the time and then over the course of the semester. - Student Evaluation, Spring 2017
